Obviously I chose a relatively tame photo of the sex kitten better known as Samantha Fox. She has gazillions of nude photos littering the internet, and gracing many pages of numerous 80’s girlie magazines, so I was shocked, nay, appalled that when I mentioned her name this morning, few remembered who she was. The injustice! The ignominy! The shame! How could history forget one of the most profound artists in the anals, I mean, annals of history?!? Her lyrics were sublime: “Temporary love’s so bad, but it feels so good” and “I was hunting you down, and I was the bait”. And although Samantha Fox has no qualms about shedding her inhibitions, especially her ample “lungs”, do NOT mistake her for the OTHER Samantha Fox, who happens to be a porn star. It’s like comparing pearls to swine. Samantha Fox the singer oozes classy class and upper-class…well…class. Her fashion statements stood the test of time. You can wear any of her spandex-denim combos today and people will still go, “Wow, whatta classy gal!” So I’d like to give credit where credit is due and extol the many virtues of a musical legend. And in her honor, I suggest a slogan to celebrate a forgotten supernova, a regal nightingale of a popstar – “Samanth Fox All Day!”
Although her extensive library is riddled with such classics as, “Touch Me (I Want Your Body)” and “(Hurt Me, Hurt Me) But The Pants Stay On”, let me leave you with my personal favorite Samantha Fox song, which encompasses my entire life experience: “Naughty Girls Need Love Too.”
