This is how the entrance to booth looks like now. It looks like a war zone. For those who have been to the booth, you won’t even recognize it based on this picture. Going to work means wading through dust and rubble, remnants of what was once a bustling office filled with people and movement and sound. Now, it’s a ghost town, everyone’s transferred to the other side while our side gets the full makeover.
A lot of the RX staff wear masks now, because inhaling all that dust has been wreaking havoc on our lungs. It’s all worth it though, because seeing how the other side of our office looks like, we’re stoked to see how much our side will rock after it’s done. We’re pretty excited, but it won’t be another 3 months before it’s done. I think we’re transferring the booth to another area while they demolish then build up the spankin’ brand new RX booth!
This is the view of the office from inside the booth. We’re the last room standing. Everything else has been torn down overnight. The toilet still works, but in a few days, even that will be torn down. It’s nice though, although we get a bit sentimental seeing the whole office torn down, it’s a nice symbolic evolution. Sometimes, a tearing down is necessary before a rebuilding is undertaken. And hopefully, the newest incarnation of Monster Radio RX 93.1 will be bigger, better and more kick-ass than ever before! It’s okay to say goodbye to the old if it means saying hello to something new that hopefully is also better. I can’t wait for the day when I first walk into the new booth! Hopefully it will be like meeting the love of your life after a painful break-up.
