The Eraserheads Limited Edition CD Set

Thank you to Greenwich for giving Delle and I one each! When Luis of Greenwich texted us yesterday that he had a surprise for us today, I was excited to get maybe a box of pizza for breakfast! Little did we know we were getting The Eraserheads Limited Edition CD Set! It contains all 10 of Eraserheads albums and EP’s, an extra CD of previously unreleased material, a DVD, a booklet, and a shirt, all in a nifty tin can container! This band really brings me back to my early days at RX as a newbie jock.  And I so remember the E-heads way back when they were only big in U.P., and we’d watch them perform at the Sunken Garden playing songs like The Doors’ “Break On Through To The Other Side”.  Of course we had no idea we were watching icons in the making.  So re-visiting their music will be quite an interesting time warp for me, especially the first album.  I bought their anthology from a couple of years back, but to get their whole discography, is AMAZING!  I can’t wait to rip the CD’s so I can put them all on my iPod.

I remember seeing Raymond Marasigan in one event, and he was telling us that his kid, who was very much aware of his band Sandwich, asked him: “What’s Eraserheads?” I hope the kids now re-discover the music of this iconic band.  I remember the first time I played “Pare Ko” and “Toyang”, we were still using the 45 single on vinyl! Yikes, that really dates me!  But going back to our CD set, Luis even tweeted earlier this picture with the caption: “Guess who got their Limited Edition Eraserheads Box Set already? :)”  Hehehe…

As I write this, I laid down the CD’s on my bed and admired by booty (booty as in loot, not booty as in tush).  There’s still something to be said about owning the CD as opposed to just the MP3, I guess I’m old school that way.  Anyway, super thank you again to Greenwich for always remembering us when they’re in the mood to share (which is often!).  You guys are always so nice to us!
