The Morning Rush won last night as BEST RADIO SHOW at the Yahoo! OMG Awards!!! The event was held at the SM Arena at the SM Mall Of Asia! We are still floating as I write this, as I woke up to an overflowing of well-wishes via text, Twitter, and Facebook! It’s such an overflow of good vibes from all over! There are no words to express how happy we are right now, mainly because more than out of merit, we won this award because of all our listeners, family, and friends, who pitched in together to vote for us. Here’s a video from the vantage of our ROCK, the RUSHERS.
I will definitely post a more comprehensive account of our OMG Awards experience, with all the photos and stories, but for later. Today, the work doesn’t end, The Kikays are hosting a wedding in a couple of hours, so I can only compose a quick post, just to thank everyone for helping us bag this great honor. Again, thank you to Yahoo! OMG Awards for the incredible recognition, Monster Radio RX 93.1 for our home in radio, and of course THE RUSHERS and all our listeners who tirelessly voted for us, online or via text, without whom we wouldn’t be celebrating today. THANK YOU!!!

Omigish, I’m so excited about my new toy! Ginoboi is to be thanked/blamed for this new purchase. It’s perfect because we might be swimming with whale sharks when we take our annual long vacation next month. I’m going to take pictures, but I want to try taking videos for a change too! I’m really more of a photos guy, but I want to learn how to edit videos on iMovie and the whale sharks might be the best bet for my first try. Besides, it would be nice to take video as well of the trips we take. Who knows, I might have a future in videography. I got the GoPro HD Hero 2, the surf edition, but I still need to purchase a head strap, so that I could take pictures and at the same time, capture videos as well. Oh wow, i’m so excited to get in the water! And hopefully I can debut my first underwater video by next month!
I got this from my friend Leo’s wall who has a lovely little girl. Of course, in my case, turn the little boys into dogs , and you get the idea why this video turns me to mush as well. You don’t have to be a parent to appreciate the gift of an ordinary day.
She’s back! What do I think? I’m bound by my allegiance to her Madgesty to love it with all my heart, but it’s okay, I guess. I don’t LOVE it, the way I loved Ray of Light when I first heard it, but I don’t HATE it either. I loved the video though, it’s a fresher Madonna than I’ve seen in recent years. She looks great, and you don’t notice all the work done on her face. It’s saying a lot that my most favorite part of the video was when Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. were rapping. But I’m a fan, so let’s just say that I loved it! I really just hope there’s more substantial stuff in the rest of the album, her first after splitting up with Warner. It’s a nice attention-getting fluffy first single, but please Madge, give us some meat and bones to go with this gravy!
I think this is the video that Delle was telling us about during one show. Sooo cute!

Years after the bullying, it’s still as painful as when it happened. When I talk about how I was bullied, I pull it from somewhere deep. I try to make it a little bit more radio-friendly, I relate it in the form of a funny anecdote, but I was petrified as a child to go to school. On Sunday evenings, I would literally be feverish and would be shivering in bed just thinking of the fact that the next day, I’ll see my tormentors again. I guess that’s why books like Harry Potter strike a raw nerve, because I guess we see ourselves in Harry. Funny, I thought all this bullying was in the past. But until now I feel the bullying, maybe not in the same juvenile form that I experienced it, sometimes from peers in the industry, sometimes from complete strangers. I’m just rambling here. Watching this is painful, because being bullied is painful. And I still know the sting of the powerlessness against a big bad bully. Hard to watch.
I want this to be my Halloween costume for Friday’s party and when we go trick or treating the next day:
Then I want my dog to have this costume:
We will be the TANK-FORMERS!
Sorry, was incommunicado the past weekend, since I was in Baguio form my niece’s wedding. So anyway, as I get my bearings, let me just post this really nice cover of a great song:
Someone Like You by Charlie Puth with Emily Luther
And here’s the new video of Adele’s original:
Someone Like You by Adele
These are the videos I’ve seen recently that were such inspirations in creativity.
Sesame Street does Glee
Hands-down, the best Glee spoof out there. Nothing like Sesame Street to do a perfect pitch spoof of the current culture tentpoles.
The next videos just gave me goosebumps:
500 people in 100 seconds
I swear, what sort of geniuses dream up of even just the concept, what more actually going out and doing it? Incredible and inspiring.
Again, watching this mesmerized me. It made me want to take up painting or something. I just watched it over and over as it hypnotized and lulled me into a trance.
Planets As Seen From Earth
Being a huge fan of astronomy, this really gave me goosebumps. Even as a kid, until now actually, I always dream of aliens and space travel and even dying in space! I’m as fascinated by outer space as I am by inner space.
Madeon – Pop Culture
Let’s end with something fun. Love the song, love the video. I swear, watching these was a shot in the arm. I feel like creating something now; I don’t know what, but something…
