Rushers

Omigosh, I really don’t know what to say. This video really got me all wistful. It’s touching on so many levels. There’s the fact that he’s been listening for so long after all these years, through the good and the bad, and the fact that he went through so much trouble traveling from so far for a few seconds with us, to have his book signed. For us, we meet everyone for a few seconds, but for some of our guests, that brief moment was long in the making. Thanks Amherst Ureign, your gift to us is WAY more precious than what you say we gave you. We may never know what people have done to support us, but we’d like to thank you guys nevertheless. You guys know how to turn us into puddles of mush. *sniff*

Here’s an article from Summit’s website: see article HERE.

Summit Books reprints The Best of Chico and Delamar’s The Morning Rush Top 10

Feb 22, 2012

The Best of Chico & Delamar's The Morning Rush Top 10“Just last month, The Best of Chico and Delamar’s The Morning Rush Top 10, a collection of over 100 of the popular RX 93.1 program’s craziest, naughtiest, and funniest Top 10 lists, snagged the second spot on National Book Store’s local bestseller lineup. This month, the compilation earns another coup as Summit Books orders a reprint to meet rising reader clamor nationwide!

“We’re thrilled that the show’s fans have been very supportive of the book, with readers even from all the way abroad getting their own copies,” Summit Books publisher Christine Ko says. “The demand for the book makes it clear that Chico and Delamar’s humor has a universal appeal among Pinoys.”

Summit Books has printed 15,000 more copies of The Best of Chico and Delamar’s The Morning Rush Top 10, in addition to the initial print run of 40,000. This brings the total print run up to 55,000 copies.

Summit Books released the bestselling compilation in December of last year to coincide with the 15th anniversary of The Morning Rush with Chico & Delamar, one of the longest-running FM radio shows in the country and a Best Comedy Program awardee at the 19th KBP Golden Dove Awards. Barely a month after its launch, the compilation rose to number two on both the National Book Store and Powerbooks local book charts.

The Best of Chico & Delamar’s The Morning Rush Top 10 is available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide for only P175.”

Wow, thank you guys! Hopefully more reprints to come!

This is it, our huling hirit! The FINAL leg in our book tour, so hopefully you guys come and join us for our book signing tomorrow, Saturday, February 25, at NBS MOA, from 2-5pm, with registration starting at 1pm! We promise to stay on for as long as there are people lined up. Don’t get disheartened in case there’s a long line, because we won’t leave until we finish signing your books and taking photos with you guys. In case you missed the past book signings, we hope you make it to this one. Even if you’ve had your book signed, it would be nice just to have you guys join the fun, and it’s a momentous event for us as well.

So again, let’s all meet up tomorrow, at National Bookstore SM Mall of Asia, 2-5pm! See you there!

(Thanks to @jrhyan for the nice poster!)

(thank you to @cherrythegreat for the photos!)

This was probably one of the most fun of our book signings, together with the Trinoma stop. The pace was more relaxed, and again, as we promised, we were able to accommodate every single person who lined up. We were able to sign all the books and take as much pictures as everyone wanted.

It was also fun because we took little breaks just to fool around with the people who attended. I posted a video earlier of some of the more fun moments. I swear, people wouldn’t believe me when I tell them that SOOO many people were commenting that I was simply gorgeous and mouth-watering that day! Why is that FACT so hard to swallow?!? Geez.

Ginoboi was nice enough to drop by just to say hi to everyone, but he couldn’t stay on to sign autographs or to pose for pictures because he had a hosting in Trinoma.

There was also a surreal moment involving someone who’s a big boss over at the MMDA, and his story about the former TTMO, and the topic that was spawned by the now-defunct group, which also made it to the book. He claims hearing the Top Ten about the TTMO caused them to change the name to TDO. I’m sure he’s exaggerating, but nevertheless it’s aliw to think it’s true. It’s SUPER interesting, I promise to post it today.

We also had a new bodyguard, the other manong was absent, but we still had our ever-reliable Kuya Maui to make hawi the multitudes and throngs of fans who rabidly claw their way for a glimpse, a touch of The Morning Rush hosts…okay fine I exaggerate. And of course, the event wouldn’t be a hit without the staunch support of the Rushers, who tirelessly troop to every venue to lend their undying support. As one Rusher (Kengkarots) commented, “parang simbang gabi, talagang kinokompleto!”

So for the last time, we’d like to invite everyone to the FINAL book signing, happening this Saturday, February 25, at NBS MOA, from 2-5pm, with registration starting at 1pm. I do wish you guys join us, it’ll hopefully be epic, and a little bit bittersweet, as we wrap up our book signing tour. See you this Saturday!

FINAL STOP: National Bookstore, SM Mall of Asia, February 25, 2-5pm, with registration starting at 1pm.

Possibly the craziest episode we’ve had so far. It was such a pleasure to have the beautiful but cray-cray Francine Prieto on The Morning Rush! We knew she was funny, but nothing prepared us for Typhoon Francine when she hit the airwaves with casualty: 1. Poor Ginoboi, he never knew what hit him.

It all started when Francine started posting on her Instagram account photos of pages from our top 10 book. She posted quite a lot, and the Rushers were quick to point out all the plugs she’s made on behalf of the book. Then a couple of days later, she tweeted that she was listening to us so we greeted her as well. Before we knew it, she dropped by the station and turned the show upside-down. How crazy was the show with Francine? Where do I start? From the “pwet ng baby” to “amoy toolbox” to “autogenic” to the unforgettable grilling of Gino Quillamor. I’ve never seen Gino so flustered EVER. Francine was merciless in putting Gino on the spot (with the 2 other jocks as willing accomplices). It was hilarious. I literally had a sore jaw because I was laughing non-stop. It’s useless to relay what happened in a narrative; you have to hear it to understand it. Just try to download the podcast! Of course the day ended with the kilig beso of the day between Francine and Gino. I did a bad job capturing the beso, but based on the expressions of the people who had the right vantage point, it’s safe to say they enjoyed it.

Of course we had our Epic Pic for the day. This just had to be called “pwet ng baby”. Francine was game to do this naughty Epic Pic, and were having such a hard time stifling our giggles because we could see how silly the picture was!

I swear, I was pooped by the time the show was over. I’d hate to overuse an already overused and abused word, but the only way I can describe this morning was…EPIC. Again, thanks to Miss Francine Prieto for making our morning a little crazier than usual. As if we needed more crazy. But we loved it, and we hope she can join us again some time in the future. Thanks, Francine!

I got the idea when you guys started sending us pictures of the book or you with the book in the strangest places. So I thought, wouldn’t it be cool if you guys can take pictures of the book wherever you are in the world, maybe next to the Eiffel Tower, or the Pyramids in Egypt, or in Times Square in New York! And for the people in the Philippines, maybe the most unique picture? Here are some examples so far. Just expand on it:

Vinsoi took this in a dessert in Dubai!

I love this picture of the book in the snow! Buti pa yung book! Not sure where @jonnifc took this pic, but it’s beautiful!

Jrhyan took this picture of real soldiers at the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta posing with the book. Hilarious!

You get the idea. So if you guys can send it via Twitter (just tag me @chicogarcia) or Facebook or email, I’ll collect them and post the best ones here on my blog. I was also thinking of having the best ones printed and display them this Saturday at the last book signing at NBS MOA!  Hope you guys could send it within the week so I can have enough time to figure out what to do with the photos, lalo na pag madaming maganda!

Okay, ready, set, shoot!
