As early as midnight last night, people were already tweeting us that we came out in Ricky Lo’s entertainment column in the Philippine Star, Funfare, so I thought, “Shoot, we missed it!” Turns out, the online version, on http://www.philstar.com, comes out way earlier than the broadsheet. So the next day, more people started texting and tweeting us about the article. It was overwhelming! By the time we finally read the article, it was REALLY heartwarming. THE Ricky Lo was just gushing about the book and I couldn’t believe that we’ve landed on one of the most read entertainment columns in the country! I mean, I usually reserve reading this column for last from even way back! And I swear I’m not just saying that because he wrote us a glowing review.
Anyway, what’s nice was that he also included some of the entries that were actually in the book, as a teaser for those who don’t listen to the show, but who would still probably enjoy the book, on the sheer strength of the funny entries. It’s nice to see regulars like ODH, Yontefian, Custer Winston, Hikarujean, etc., to have their names and entries printed on the broadsheet. I don’t know, it’s hard to explain, just a nice warm fuzzy feeling all over. I really relished that moment. And it’s so nice that we’re sharing this as a community. The show AND the book are all communal labors of love. It’s us hosts and everyone who joins in in the morning. Just waxing sentimental seeing the book’s picture so large on the front page of the entertainment section.
So again, congrats to us, we landed in Ricky Lo’s column!
