We were really shocked to see just how extensive the article turned out to be! It features our respective homes, the first time they’re coming out on any magazine. Plus, singularly the most extensive interview we’ve ever given. I remember we started from the date of birth all the way until the present. It reads like a mini-biography of sorts. Again, super thanks to writer Bam V. Abellon for the insightful article, and to photographer Mitch Mauricio for making our homes so much better-looking than they actually are! Not to mention making me look like Zac Efron! Hahaha! *cough cough*

Sold Out!

Okay, let me back off the whole Zinger-Zongwriter persona for a while (but don’t worry he’ll be back), because you might think this is another one of my delusional paroxysms. Especially after my bogus reviews in the previous post, you might not take me seriously.

The good news I’d want to share, is this: I just got a call from Iggy of Pet’s Life Magazine and he just informed me that the issue I appeared in has been completely sold out! I saw a copy at Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street but there was just 1 copy left. I didn’t buy it because I thought there were more copies coming. Apparently, they need to reprint the issue, but only for the complimentary issues.

Wow, it’s nice to know people bought the magazine. I’ve been wanting to pakyaw some copies of it as souvenirs, especially since I share the cover with my beloved Cairo, but by the time it’s available, it’s already sold out! But of course, I’m not complaining, it’s a good kind of problem. Iggy promised to give me my complimentary copies.

I really would like to do more animal stuff. I hope I could have some sort of dabbling in things animal. Believe it or not, I actually have a fear of dogs. I love dogs, but I’m very wary of dogs I’m not familiar with. And I freeze whenever I encounter dogs that seem aggressive. But it hasn’t stopped me from loving these animals to pieces. Hope to be more involved in this advocacy.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who bought the issue (whew, it wasn’t a flop!), and thanks to Iggy for putting me and Cairo on the cover! Calling on Time Magazine…I’m available for a cover shoot…whenever you’re ready. Maybe a cover article on the newest recording artist/animal lover/all-around superstar?

On The Cover Of Pet’s Life Magazine!

Waaaaaaah!!! It’s finally out!  I’m excited to see the whole issue and to see how the other pictures came out.  When Iggy of Pet’s Life asked me to be on the cover of the magazine, I said yes INSTANTLY.  Of course I’m glad whenever people feature me as a radio personality because that’s what I do, but it’s also really nice when they feature me, highlighting another facet of my life.  Especially close to me is my love for animals.  I’ve had my ups and downs with my relationships with many of my animals past and present, and even now I plumb new depths in understanding our animal brethren.  So it’s extra nice to be featured on a Pet Magazine, and with my Yorkshire Terrier, Cairo, my favorite dog EVER (it’s the cherry on top!).  I consider my dogs my kids, so to have one of them on the cover with me is really a treat.

We did the photoshoot at Bonifacio Global City, around the Burgos Circle area.  Cairo was a trooper, cooperating like a pro.  He’s really just deficient in attention, so it was hard to find a shot with his head steady.  He usually whips his head around with every movement or sound that disrupts his very short attention span.  Other than that, Cairo’s the only dog I have that I feel confident lugging around all day.  He won’t complain, will do what you ask him to, and will quietly abide by what’s going on around him.  He’ll adapt to you, not the other way around.  Even the people over at the pet store Dogs and the City were having fun playing ball with him; he gets along with anyone.  So the shoot went pretty well, and I’m curious if they put more photos of us inside.

There was also an interview, and I’m doubly curious on the writer’s take on what we talked about.  It was a pretty long discussion, so I’m  sure it will be whittled down to only what he found relevant.  He angled his questions differently from the usual interviews about pets, so I wonder what he took away from our lengthy chat.  The whole thing felt like a father-son weekend outing.  If I could “like” that day like we do on FB, I’d “like” it a hundred times over.  Precious.

Iggy said the magazine will be delivered on Christmas day, so it should be available soon after that.  So check out your favorite bookstores, magazine stands and pet stores nationwide for a copy!  It’s the 3rd issue (the 1st issue had Doc Ferdz Recio of Born to be Wild and Survivor Phils. and the 2nd had Ashley Gosiengfiao on the cover), and Christmas issue in one, so please get a copy so that the issue with me on the cover doesn’t flop, hahaha!  Seriously though, if you’re a pet lover, you might want to check out Pet’s Life magazine!  Woohoo!

Animal Scene (January 2009)

I’m so excited because I’m in the latest issue (January 2009) of one of the local magazines I read regularly, Animal Scene!  This is actually the 3rd time I came out in this publication, but this is the first article on me and my pets.  The first time was an articles on DJs in general, and they featured me and another RX jock, Rico Robles.  But at the time, I still had my late Labrador, Tyro, and my late Dalmatian, Maria.  The second time was when we joined a cat show and I had a couple of pics with my cats.

So when one of their writers, Nathaniel T. Dela Cruz got in touch with me last December, I was thrilled at the idea.  Not so much for me, but I was feeling like a stage parent, excited at the prospect of seeing my babies’ photos in a magazine! So I’ve been stalking the magazine stands for the past weeks, waiting for the January issue to arrive, sheepishly asking the manang magazine sellers if they’d let me sneak a peek at the unopened mags, and finally, voila!  The issue came out and I saw the 2-page article.  I found it so cute that it’s the new batch of babies who were featured, mostly Cairo (Hehehe…my favorite, but don’t tell the others),  and some of the cats.  I’m not just saying it because I was featured, but Animal Scene, together with Yummy, are the only 2 local magazines that I read religiously.  So I really had a hoot being featured there.

So again, thanks to Nathaniel for featuring us, my pets send their approving woofs and meows for a cool article!
