It was a nice surprise! We were invited to the 2012 Tatt Awards to support Gino since he was hosting with the gorgeous Georgina Wilson, and lo and behold, when it was time to give out the special awards, turns out we had an award ourselves, the #trendingradio award, since we had the most trending hits in 2012 for radio!
It was a nice little surprise, and we were smiling ear to ear being given such a wonderful recognition. What makes it special is that it reflects more on our listeners’ support for the show. What makes anything trend would be the people who would join in, and we’re happy that our listeners deliver in spades, not so much for the sole purpose of trending, but because they’re enjoying themselves. And that for us, showbiz answer aside, is the true prize.
So again, thank you to the Tatt Awards for the humbling honor, and of course a big thank you to everyone who tunes in to The Morning Rush tirelessly, giving us such great responses and incredible good energy every single morning, whether they like the topic or not, whether their entries are read or not, they still flood us with input that fuels the show year after year. THANK YOU!

Thanks to JRhyan for sending the photo! Wow, more that 6 months after we released the book, it’s still selling vigorously! It’s still #1 for the month of June 2012! No words to describe how good it feels that a little pet project could be enjoyed by so many people! Hehehe I hope it still stays in the charts until we release book two! So go and get a copy (or copies) in your favorite bookstores, in case you haven’t yet, or get new copies in case your books are getting all worn out! Again, thank you to everyone who’s still buying, and we promise to try our best to come up with more goodies for the sequel!
When Mothers Day rolled along, everyone was scrambling to find the right gift for their moms. We were tasked to do something quite difficult to do, for men in general. If you’re thinking something in the vein of singing a song for her in front of an audience, or buying her expensive jewelry worth a couple of months’ salaries, not quite. Not as big and showy as those, but every bit as challenging. To say those three words all moms want to hear. Not “I Love You”, which I’m sure they’d love to hear every bit as much, but something they hear less frequently — “You Were Right”. It may seem deceptively simple, but when faced with the idea that you will actually say these words to your mom, it reduces most men to spineless jelly. We read a lot of our listeners messages for their moms, and for a few, we actually put them on air to do it live, including Gino and I. Suffice it to say we sweat bullets even just anticipating the inevitable. But after the struggle, we felt infinitely relieved and enriched for doing so. Challenging, but infinitely rewarding.
Wow, so excited to see the HUGE article that came out today in Manila Bulletin! Thanks to writer Jaser Marasigan for the insightful article and photographer Andrew Pamorada for the awesome shots (especially that jumpshot)! It’s two full pages and a one-page article on Radio 1 at the back. That was really fun!
You can read the article online HERE. But you’d only see the photos in the actual newspaper, so you should check it out!
Leveling up!!! Thanks to @JRhyan for uploading this!
Omigosh, thank you to @jrhyan for this! It definitely made our morning! I just officially lodge my protest. How come Delle and Gino get to have big pageant-friendly smiles, and I get a constipated princess look instead? NOT. FAIR.
If I’m not mistaken, this is our first ever The Morning Rush parody! I love it!!!
Possibly the craziest episode we’ve had so far. It was such a pleasure to have the beautiful but cray-cray Francine Prieto on The Morning Rush! We knew she was funny, but nothing prepared us for Typhoon Francine when she hit the airwaves with casualty: 1. Poor Ginoboi, he never knew what hit him.
It all started when Francine started posting on her Instagram account photos of pages from our top 10 book. She posted quite a lot, and the Rushers were quick to point out all the plugs she’s made on behalf of the book. Then a couple of days later, she tweeted that she was listening to us so we greeted her as well. Before we knew it, she dropped by the station and turned the show upside-down. How crazy was the show with Francine? Where do I start? From the “pwet ng baby” to “amoy toolbox” to “autogenic” to the unforgettable grilling of Gino Quillamor. I’ve never seen Gino so flustered EVER. Francine was merciless in putting Gino on the spot (with the 2 other jocks as willing accomplices). It was hilarious. I literally had a sore jaw because I was laughing non-stop. It’s useless to relay what happened in a narrative; you have to hear it to understand it. Just try to download the podcast! Of course the day ended with the kilig beso of the day between Francine and Gino. I did a bad job capturing the beso, but based on the expressions of the people who had the right vantage point, it’s safe to say they enjoyed it.
Of course we had our Epic Pic for the day. This just had to be called “pwet ng baby”. Francine was game to do this naughty Epic Pic, and were having such a hard time stifling our giggles because we could see how silly the picture was!
I swear, I was pooped by the time the show was over. I’d hate to overuse an already overused and abused word, but the only way I can describe this morning was…EPIC. Again, thanks to Miss Francine Prieto for making our morning a little crazier than usual. As if we needed more crazy. But we loved it, and we hope she can join us again some time in the future. Thanks, Francine!
