Since it’s a Saturday night, admit it, this is how many weekends played out. How many weekends did we spend in a fetal position, curled up in bed, as we listened to songs that curdled all the pent up frustrations about love, or the lack of it? Tell me? TELL MEEEEE???!!!!!???!?!?!???!!!??
Oh gosh, themes like this make me cry much easier than those of death or heartbreak. Stories that involve animals or old parents really tug at my heartstrings. Maybe because I remember my late father, who just had his birth anniversary last Feb 16, who would be the type of dad who’d actually do what the dad in the short film did. It’s such a simple story, filmed very simply, no hi-tech shots, no fancy cinematography, almost no script, but it’s honest heart throbbing at the very core of the films manages to grab your heart and doesn’t let go until the last frame. Kudos to the director!
