Day 4 was basically just last minute shopping. After breakfast, everyone just went their own ways, some went to Mustafa, some went to Bugis, but our group went back to Funan for some last minute gadget purchases. Basically, we went back for those items that we didn’t buy the first time we saw them, but decided last minute to get them anyway. Shops open at 11am, and we had to be back before 1pm to check out of the hotel so we didn’t really have a lot of time to spare. Quite quickly, almost as soon as we went out, we came running back to the hotel. We packed our bags, then checked out. We had a quick lunch, all a bit solemnly, knowing that the fun trip is coming to a close, then back to the hotel to wait for the bus. Then we were dropped off at our respective airports, the PAL group first at Changi (that’s us) then the Cebu Pacific group at their airport. And before we knew it, we were on our respective planes and back in Manila by 8:30pm.

What a trip. I guess the main reason we all consider this the best RX trip ever is because we really bonded as a group for as long as we can remember. Usually in trips like these, everyone splinters off into their own sub-groups to do their own thing, and we’d just meet up for meals or at night for the requisite inuman. This time around, for the most part, most of us wanted to be with the group. Nobody wanted to go off on their own for fear of missing out on the fun.

The places we went to were fantastic, the food was exquisitely overflowing, the company was light and fun, and everyone was just glad to be there doing what we were doing. So I guess this is a good time to thank the RX management for a memorable trip to Singapore, for a trip that didn’t feel like a company outing, but more of a vacation with friends. They didn’t scrimp on giving us a swell time, we felt so spoiled by the food and the drinks and accommodations. They didn’t have to, but we’re glad that they did. So again, on behalf of everyone who went, a big wet THANK YOU.

And to all the people who wanted to meet up, we really REALLY wanted to meet up with you guys like we did last year when we met up with some 20-30 people in Sentosa. But as you probably read, our sked was just way too packed. Delle and I are really planning to come back, maybe just for a weekend, for some shopping and most especially to meet up with the Singapore Pinoys who wanted an EB of sorts. One of these days, we promise to be back!

Let me end this whole Monsters In Singapore series with a group photo of the ones who rode The Mummy ride. Too bad the RoRo boys were in another car, but this is my favorite photo of the trip. I love how Fran and I looked the same (sheer terror), Hazel and Cerah looked the same (blasé), Danielle and Gino looked the same (crying for mommy). It totally illustrates the whole trip, like it was a thrilling roller coaster ride. We laughed, we screamed, we cried (well…at least Danielle cried), but it was well worth the ride, a ride we’ll be remembering for a long time.
