The 2 Richards, the only Team Philippines who made it to The Amazing Race Asia 4 finale dropped by The Morning Rush to chat up a storm about everything TARA 4…and more! It was great timing because tomorrow is the finale and TARA 4 excitement is fever pitch. They leave for Singapore tomorrow morning, to join the rest of the TARA 4 teams for the live viewing of the finale. Even the contestants themselves hardly remember what went down so they’re pretty stoked to watch how things actually played out. Of course this is familiar territory for us, this is the 3rd straight season that a Pinoy team made the final 3 – Marc and Rovilson of TARA 2, Geoff and Tisha of TARA 3 and now Richard and Richard of TARA 4. The expectation is, The 2 Richards should win first place because Marc and Rovilson landed 3rd place, Geoff and Tisha landed 2nd place, so Rich and Rich should logically land 1st place FINALLY.

It’s a shame though that Jess and Lani missed the finale by just one leg. It would’ve rocked to see 2 Philippine teams making the final 3. Supposed spoilers abounded, but many turned out false. There was a spoiler that predicted the 2 Pinoy teams landing 1st and 2nd places, with the girls bringing home the bacon. Well now we know that’s not true. I won’t mention the others just in case one might end up a real spoiler. It was fun chatting with the 2 Richards because they’re so relaxed. You can ask them any question and they’ll answer it. We talked about everything from Ivan and Hilda (Herrera sang Hilda praises while Hardin just called her crazy) to Hardin’s bungee jump (we both share a fear of heights), to Herrera’s flirtations with the TARA 4 girls (he liked the Singapore girls because they were “spicy”, the Indian girls because they were gorgeous, the Indonesian girls because he found it “hot” when they cried, among others).

And speaking of Richard Herrera, Delle called him out on why he was still single and he said his friends would know the reason why, but wouldn’t explain further. He also said Hardin tells him he has ADHD. It was also fun when we brought up Hardin’s rare emotional choking up when he videoed a message for his girlfriend during one part of the race. You should’ve seen the expression on his face, he was mortified that anyone would bring that up. He claimed that the only time he ever cried in his life was when he was born. He claims he didn’t cry, that he just had a biscuit stuck in his throat (he cried). Delle asked Hardin about that boat drama with Ethan and Kairie and how he handled the whole thing (he was very male about it, just leave him alone, then he’s good). We also talked about those knee-high socks! I guess it’s their trademark. We talked about that disastrous free ride, which apparently wasn’t allowed on the Amazing Race, and they had to go back to the beach, touch the boat, then back to the temple. We all thought that was the end for them. It was all a lot of fun and we hoped we had more time with them, and wish we could have them back after we all find out who won. It would be nice if we could have Jess and Lani with them if ever they make it back.

Back to the race, I can’t wait to see who wins. Unfortunately, I’d be miserable if any other team won. Obviously, I’m rooting for the 2 Richards, but I also cannot stand the other 2 teams who made it. I like Michelle of Singapore, but I find Clare a bit nasty. She trash talks the other teams and she could be pretty mean with her statements (like during the archery detour when she said she wishes she could shoot the 2 Pinays in the kisser, the photo version of them, of course) . On a side note, Clare once revealed that Michelle couldn’t stand Jess and Lani, but apparently, they’re now super friends, bff’s in fact, and Michelle is even thinking of moving to the Philippines. I also hate the idea that Hussein and Natasha would win, mainly because all they ever do is fight. Nothing serious, but I get tired watching them. When the cameras are focused on them, I can’t wait till it moves to another team. Nothing personal, I just don’t identify with them in the least bit. But whatever we say now is all moot and academic. It matters little who we personally want to win, because someone won already way before we even saw a single episode. All we can do now is watch. I hope the Richards win, but if not, congratulations on making it to the finale, the 3rd time Pinoys did it in consecutive seasons. And I can’t wait to see who makes the next Team Philippines in TARA 5!
