For the 3rd semester in a row, we at Monster Radio RX 93.1 consider ourselves blessed to have been given a chance to once again help out students who wish to continue their schooling but are financially in need of assistance. For a 3rd edition, the RX Monster Scholar program once again exceeded our expectations, with the help of many kind souls who pitched in and made a simple plan by the station to help out a student or two, into a wonderful venue where people from all walks of life can give young men and women a second chance by helping them out with their tuition.
Anyone who got to catch their stories on air probably had lumps in their throats listening to their tales of need, some harrowing, and for some, enough to help out and sponsor or co-sponsor a scholar. The first Monster Scholar yielded 4 scholars the 2nd produced 16, and now the 3rd edition produced enough funds for a total of 18 students! And as we speak, we’re still getting donations and pledges for even more future scholars.
Again, I cannot thank enough the Morning Rushers, who, for a 2nd semester in a row, sponsored a scholar by pitching in among themselves. Last year, they sponsored 2 students, and this year, they sponsored 1, while someone known only as “Morning Rusher Abbie” co-sponsored another. Through your kindness, 2 more students have better chances to better their situation ushering in a better future for themselves and their families. We never goaded them into sponsoring students, they did everything on their own accord, and many of those who gave, are not rich themselves, but they all gave what they can. We cannot say it enough, how honored we are to count such people among those who listen to the station. May you receive kindness in the same way you generously dispense it.
It’s encouraging to discover that this program doesn’t get old. It’s nice to know because the number of people in need is not going down, in fact we find more and more students reaching out for assistance of any sort to help continue their studies. It’s humbling to accept so much help, more and more each semester, from so many of our listeners, because the road is still long. It’s a blessing that more than dwindling, the sponsors have been pouring in more than ever, and may God bless you for that.
