One of the easiest to bungle up is responding to “I love you”, especially if the feeling is not mutual. I remember being with someone I didn’t love (besides I was young then and infinitely immature), and I didn’t want to lie, so I found 101 ways to avoid saying “I love you too”. I was told “I love you” so many times, but like the cad that I was, I thwarted each attempt with some lame change-of-topic or whatever.
