The Amazing Geoff And Tisha

I was so stoked when I found out that Geoff and Tisha (Team Philippines!) of the Amazing Race Asia 3 were coming over to RX for a live interview! I couldn’t believe my luck because I’m such a big fan of the series and I’ve been watching since day 1!  They arrived very much on time, and I must admit, although I’ve met Geoff a couple of times before (because he’s a good buddy of Brad Turvey), I was starstruck by the couple because I’ve been watching the race, and suddenly they were there in the same room!

And Tisha was a goddess! She is as gorgeous and classy as I imagined her to be.  I always knew she was pretty, but I never imagined that she was THAT beautiful.  The moment they sat down, I immediately rambled on like the fanboy that I am.  I felt like I jumped the gun because I started asking questions even before we went on air.  I just couldn’t keep my excitement in.

During the on air interview, we asked about how difficult the race was, since it’s dubbed as the hardest race ever.  Actually, even before I heard that tag, I felt like the race was on the brink of being perilous to the contestants.  Some detours and roadblocks were painful to watch!  Apparently, that said, what we see on TV is nowhere as difficult as the actual challenges.

Also, we asked Geoff about his surprising “role” as the unwitting villain in this race.  As anyone who watches The Amazing Race knows, there’s always a villain in every season, whether in the U.S. or in the Asian version, and in TARA 3, hands-down, it’s Geoff.  He played it as a “screw ‘em” kind of thing, but I think he’s a really nice guy, and that he’s just playing the role since it was bestowed on him anyway.

Of course, everyone loved Tisha.  And we can really see why.  She was not only physically breathtaking, but she was impressively well-spoken too.  I remember how she described the stinky tofu in one challenge as “the most rancid and putrid” thing she’s ever ingested.  She’s obviously a very smart woman.  We also reminded them of Tisha’s comment at the pitstop during the first episode when she said, “That’s the way the gods will have it”, referring to how they landed in second place by virtue of “rock, paper, scissors”.

We also brought up the teaser from the last episode where Tisha was quoted telling Geoff, “We are SO over after the race…” I was so shocked to hear that from Tisha.  Unfortunately, they can’t talk about anything that hasn’t been aired yet, so they couldn’t comment on that comment, since it hasn’t aired yet.  So when we asked them if they’re still together, they hemmed and they hawed, until Geoff finally dodged the question by saying, “We’re TOGETHER…in this station…”  Then they both laughed.  So I guess we’ll have to just wait and watch the latest episode on Thursday.

I’m almost embarrassed by how fast I’m writing this post, because obviously I’m showing my geeky fanboy side, but like Geoff said…”screw ‘em”!  Hehehe…so anyway, I feel really fortunate for having caught Marc Nelson and Paula Taylor of TARA 2 when Jude and Gelli interviewed them on The Ride, and then now Geoff Rodriguez and Tisha Silang of TARA 3, whom we interviewed on the Morning Rush.

They’re a really fun couple, cool people you’d love to hang out with.  It’s cute to see them horsing around, with Geoff playfully pulling the mic away from Tisha when they don’t agree, and other stuff.  I didn’t want to root for them the way I rooted for Marc and Rovilson because I was SOOO heartbroken when they lost.  I know, I know, I’m proud of how well they did despite that…but to see them lose by a hair’s breadth was excruciating to watch!  So here I go again, rooting for Team Philippines, since they’re such nice people.  And once again, I’m reminded by my fervor, that I really need to get a life.

A special thank you to Ickhoy de Leon of Caltex for bringing them over to RX, and for being such a cool dude!  Go Team Philippines!
