Hoo boy. If only I could ask God my questions. But my favorite analogy as to why we can’t seem to fathom what God probably has in “mind”, is the amoeba-calculator analogy. Imagine an amoeba coming across a calculator. Even if it tried, no matter how hard it tried, there is no probability whatsoever that an amoeba could understand what the heck a calculator is. With its limited capacity, it does not have any concept of numbers, much less a machine that deals with the complexities of numbers. Same with humans and God. Even if we tried, God’s “consciousness” is beyond any concept that we can even imagine. I don’t necessarily buy that, it’s just an interesting thought.
